Nysa

No one in the House is at all surprised when Philip proposes to Ariadne and she quickly says yes, but trouble quickly follows for the couple.  When Philip asks Ariadne about the night her face was cut, Ariadne blatantly lies to him and he catches her.  Following a heated confrontation, the two go their separate ways for the night, Ariadne hunting with Bendix, Philip brooding alone.  Meanwhile, Kazuo is spotted talking with Milady.  He is called into the office where Adriana demands to know what is going on.  Kazuo tells her he senses good in Milady.  Adriana gives him a choice between Milady and the House.  Kazuo storms out.

The next morning, Casey calls Adriana to the kitchen with a proposal for a new project.  She wishes to open a time portal to the future in order to immunize the entire body of the Phoenix Fighters against the Ebene attacks.  Adriana consents to let her try and with Jake and Philip's help, Casey manages to open a portal.  Things take an unexpected turn, however, when a strange baby emmerges from the fabric of time and space.  When Casey runs a quick scan on the creature, she determines that it is half Hylian, half Andorian.  She draws the conclusion that this creature must be Philip and Ariadne's daughter from the future, a genetic impossibility since Andorians and Hylians cannot mate.

The appearance of the child, who Jake dubs Nysa, quickly patches up the arguement between Philip and Ariadne who begin to wonder at the prospect of parenthood, finding it more and more attractive.  Just as they reach this conclusion, however, a cry is heard.  Everyone gathers in Jake's room to discover the boy has been petrified by an upgraded Ebene lash and that Nysa has been taken.  Horrified, Ariadne, Philip, and Inigo set out to rescue her, Sito and Pfalz joining in.

Casey, Lex, Valero, and Pipira work frantically to find a way to restore Jake, but it is Pipira who finally suceeds when she goes into Jake's room and finds a collection of vials, including one with the old antidote to the lash.  Jake is restored, much to everyone's relief, and Casey goes back to work to reform the portal so she can send Nysa home.

Ariadne leads the rescue team to an Ebene stronghold, following her nose.  They encounter little resistence getting in, as there are few guards to be found.  Ariadne disposes of most of them and the group collides with Klein, who is guarding the room they are certain Nysa is inside of.  Klein quickly steps aside, though he frightens Sito.  Pfalz phases through the door to discover Nysa on a lab table and Kazuo, a bloody mess, chained to the wall.  The group rescues both Kazuo and Nysa, bringing them back to the House.  There, Ariadne questions Kazuo about his presence.  He tells her that he tried to rescue Nysa, but Milady betrayed him.  Adriana was right about her.

Casey discovers a critical error in her mathematics.  The portal she opened, through which Nysa arrived, wasn't to the future, it was to the past.  The Phoenix Fighters are assured beyond a reasonable doubt that Nysa cannot be Philip and Ariadne's child.  In sadness, she is sent back where she came from.  Later on, Ariadne looks through her father's journal's and discovers a mention of a young half Andorian, half Hylian named Linnis who was created by magic.  This leaves Philip and Ariadne with a small comfort concerning a future family, but it's enough.
